The Lindy Hop is an fun partner dance that is said to have been invented in The Savoy Ballroom, Harlem, New York, in the 1920's and 1930's. It’s danced to swing music from Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Artie Shaw and Duke Ellington to name a few!! It was the American GI soldiers who bought Lindy Hop to Britain in the early 194o’s. It’s the daddy of all Swing Dances. It’s fun, its cool and you get fit at the same time.

7pm - Beginners Level - This is for complete novices, we will teach the basics step by step building on the fundamentals each week. We explain about lead & follow, musicality and posture. Learning single step initially and progressing onto triple steps while working towards the iconic Lindy Hop moves.

8pm -Intermediate Level- This class is for dancers who already have some experience in dancing Lindy Hop. An understanding of 6 and 8 count rhythms and the ability to triple step and lead / follow Lindy Turns, Swing Outs and Circles is essential. Some fun footwork variations and Charleston steps will improve your musicality to elevate your dancing to another level.

Wear smooth soled flat shoes and comfy clothes. No partner required as we will rotate the class, you can stay with your partner if you prefer. With Jim & Sarah
